It has been reported by Interfax-Ukraine
news agency that a Malaysia Airlines
flight MH17, from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was shot down over eastern Ukraine
by militants on Thursday, killing all 295 people aboard. A Ukrainian interior
ministry official was quoted.
Ararently it was a Boeing 777 and it
came down near the city of Donetsk. It
was possibly hit by a ground-to-air
missile. The plane was said to be carrying 280 passengers and 15 crew
Ukrainian officials said local
residents had found wreckage.
The plane was said to have been shot
while it was at an altitude of 10km over Ukrainian airspace
Malaysia Airlines have now confirmed
that they "have lost contact with flight MH17.
